Nobody wants to have rolls of fat flowing everywhere, that's a given. Most of us, additionally, don't want to spend several hundred dollars (or more!) every month for a gym membership and personal trainers. Luckily, you can get yourself in shape from home!

First, you need to start on a jogging program if you haven't already. Go jogging at least once a day, for at least 30 minutes a session. This helps bring your heart rate and metabolism up, burning fat and calories.

At least once or twice during the jog, you should work in a 30-60 second flat-out sprint to further increase your metabolic rate.

The jog/sprint will help burn the fat off your stomach, so you can show off the abs you're going to tone. As much as people downplay crunches, they are extremely important to getting your abdominal muscles in shape, especially at home without any equipment.

Do several sets of 20-30 crunches every day (start off with fewer if necessary) to work your stomach out. To do a proper crunch, lie on your back with your knees bent. Place your hands behind your head and, flexing your abdominal muscles, lift your head from the ground. Make sure not to use your hands to move your head, as this can injure your neck.

It's important to note that you can't "spot-train" when it comes to personal fitness. While individual muscle exercises may build those muscles, you have to lose fat from your body to show those muscles. Fat loss only works over your entire body, which is why cardio exercise is so important to personal fitness.

For more exercises you can do at home, take a look at Jennifer Nicole Lee's Fitness Model Program which lets you get in shape without having to devote ridiculous amounts of time to the gym. Without her program, I would not be in the shape that I'm in.
